The Burdell Ranch Wetland Conservation Bank

A FRESHWATER MITIGATION BANK LOCATED IN NORTHERN MARIN COUNTY

The Burdell Ranch Wetland Conservation Bank provides in-kind wetland mitigation credits to projects that are located in the San Pablo Bay watershed and are within a twenty mile radius of the Bank. Parts of Contra Costa, Solano, Napa, Sonoma and most of Marin County constitute the service area of the Mitigation Bank.

WETLAND MITIGATION CREDITS
Mitigation credits for non-tidal wetlands, excepting vernal pools and swale complexes, are available from the Burdell Ranch with each wetland mitigation credit equaling 1/10th of an acre.

PROJECTS ELIGIBLE TO MITIGATE AT THE BANK
The Mitigation Bank is intended to be used by projects with unavoidable impacts to wetland and other aquatic habitats similar in function to the habitats constructed and restored on the bank site. The majority of projects using the Mitigation Bank are anticipated to be typically authorized under the Corps of Engineers' Nationwide Permits and CDFG 1601 - 1603 Streambed Alteration Agreements.

WETLANDS SUITABLE FOR MITIGATION
Impacts to wetlands on heavy clay soils, such as Clear Lake clays, or impacts to wetlands on organic clay soils, such as Reyes or Novato, or histosols, are generally suitable for mitigation at the Burdell Ranch Conservation Bank.
